Requirements listed below and all previous
are needed to achieve the rank of
Black Belt
Black Belts will have to meet and exceed all previous requirements from the day they put on a white belt. Student must posses the skill of a true Sensei by teaching and organizing one class. This requirement is a must and under no circumstance may a student opt. out of it. The student will also be required to have two other senior black belts review their material and certify them for testing. There is no waiting time for your test, however you will be observed in class for your technique, attitude and spirit. You are the only person who can tell us when your ready, simply by your actions. Any student testing for black belt must be at least 16 years of age or within a few months, of there 16th birthday. Any student not meeting this age requirement will be tested as a Jr. Black Belt. All tests are done in private and are not open to the public, if any medical conditions exist that require someone at all times, you must notify us in advance. Students under the age of 18 may have a single parent or guardian observe the test, but it’s not recommended. Students are put through a very hard test and lots of emotions come out, this may be uncomfortable for someone who does not understand what true training is.
Safety is our number one concern, all precautions are taken before a test like this is given. Master Klawon is always present during this test. Other black belt instructors may attend to help, only if they have a higher degree then the student testing.

To be a 2nd degree Black Belt is not about showing up to train and going home, it's about self and community improvement. Student must ask themselves; “how have I improved myself and helped those around me”? Student must have at least 2 higher ranking black belts attest to their improvement. Student must have a positive attitude inside and outside the Dojo.
Higher Dan grades are not to be taken lightly, most students feel they have reached a goal once they earn a 1st degree black belt. To often this goal is immediately met with the felling of completion, and students quit. This is understandable, but unfortunate. That's why 2nd Dan's or higher are not to be taken lightly, this is no simple goal but a lifestyle. A true martial artist views a 1st degree black belt as a starting point, not a finish line.
“A Black Belt is just a White Belt who never quit”
“ A Master is just a Black Belt who never quit”
Which one are you?
